The multinational oil corporation BP has made a significant leadership change by removing its chair, Albert Manifold, due to "serious concerns" pertaining to essential governance standards, oversight, and conduct.
Senior independent director Amanda Blanc expressed that the board was "surprised and disappointed" to uncover governance oversight and conduct issues deemed unacceptable, leading to prompt and decisive action.
In light of this development, Ian Tyler has been designated as the interim chair with immediate effect.
Manifold's tenure lasted less than a year in the role.
