Kid Rock testified before a Senate hearing on the entertainment industry on January 28, 2026.

The unfolding narrative surrounding the Army helicopter crew that operated near Kid Rock’s residence in Nashville has reached a swift and conclusive resolution. The Army has lifted the suspension previously placed on these pilots following an incident that drew the attention of President Trump. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the decision to reinstate the crewmembers after an initial suspension was imposed.

On Tuesday, Hegseth took to social media to proclaim the lifting of the suspension, stating, “@USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED,” while also expressing gratitude toward Kid Rock. He affirmed, “No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots.”

The situation arose when Kid Rock shared a video of himself applauding the two AH-64 Apache helicopters flying near his home, which he dubbed “The Southern White House,” a structure reminiscent of the White House in Washington, D.C. The video gained widespread attention, amassing over 10 million views.

The U.S. Army confirmed the identification of the helicopters involved and indicated that appropriate measures would be taken should any regulatory violations be observed. An administrative review was initially launched to evaluate adherence to safety regulations and airspace protocols.

Public discussion ensued, prompting President Trump to respond to inquiries regarding the video. Although he admitted he had not seen it, he remarked, “I’m sure they had a good time.” Trump acknowledged that flying in such proximity may not have been appropriate, yet added, “They like Kid Rock. I like Kid Rock.” Furthermore, a spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division clarified that the helicopter flights coinciding with Kid Rock’s residence were “entirely coincidental” with the ongoing protests occurring nationwide.
