Razer has introduced its inaugural keyboard featuring a split and curved ergonomic design, known as the Pro Type Ergo. This innovative keyboard is available for purchase today at a price point of $189.99, which positions it slightly higher than the traditional Pro Type Ultra, released in 2021, which retails for $159.99. Unlike its gaming-centric predecessors, the Pro Type Ergo is marketed as a productivity enhancement tool, yet it retains Razer's characteristic vibrant LED lighting, segmented into 19 customizable zones that can also be turned off.

This keyboard is equipped with ultra-low-profile, laser-etched ABS keys, designed in a fingertip shape, accompanied by sound-dampening layers to minimize noise during use. Razer asserts that the curved layout is tailored to align with the natural resting position of users' arms and hands. Moreover, the split design includes dual “B” keys and an additional backspace key strategically positioned between two space bars, enabling both thumbs to execute frequent actions with greater ease and reducing the necessity for finger crossover and excessive reach.

The Pro Type Ergo is also equipped with a Razer Command Dial located in each corner, allowing users to assign up to eight functions per dial. Additionally, a vertical array of five customizable macro keys is placed on the left side of the keyboard, with their functionality adaptable based on the currently active application. On the right side, just above the number pad, there is a dedicated button designed to launch Razer’s AI Prompt Master app, facilitating swift access to your preferred AI tools.

Prioritizing user comfort, the Ergo includes a non-removable padded wrist rest. The keys are arranged with a 10-degree slope, and users can further modify the angle of the Pro Type Ergo with an additional tilt of up to seven degrees, either forward or backward, to suit personal preferences. The battery is rated for up to three months on a full charge, although actual performance may vary based on the connection method employed with computers or mobile devices. The Ergo supports connections for up to five devices: three via Bluetooth, one through a 2.4GHz HyperSpeed Wireless connection, and one with a USB-C cable.
